Hackett Services No longer Required by Nomads
The Connah's Quay Nomads' website has announced this evening that Manager Jim Hackett has been told by the club, that his services are no longer required.
There has been much speculation surrounding his position since the close season, with Hackett even stating in his last Programme Notes of the campaign that the Carmarthen match, would be his last game in charge of the club. It proved to be a successful final game for the Londoner as they beat the Old Gold 4-3.
Only in the job for one season, the former Chester City Youth Team boss, is currently on holiday in Spain, when acting-Chairman Bobby Hunter made the call to him. Hackett, is an 'A' Licence holder and has only just begun the Pro Licence Course in April, which the Nomads have supported him with. He was put in charge when previous long-serving incumbent Nev Powell joined Bangor City and the search is now on for a new Manager.
Hackett was praised earlier this month by star player Chris Williams, who has now left the club and will depart for the USA in August. Williams was obviously keen that his former boss stayed on and said;
"What Jim Hackett has done with Nomads this season, is nothing short of a miracle. He and the rest of the coaching staff have done everything anyone could have asked of them, and more.
"They are the best bunch that I have ever worked for. People might not know what goes on behind the scenes, but the atmosphere in the dressing room is fantastic, the best I have ever known."
