The distance was actually 40.3 miles and a few well deserved pints in Castle Eden, Billingham & Greatham- part of the money raised will be going to the Jack Smith fund, an U16 player from Billingham who broke his back during a game in January. A special thankyou to all that supported the ride & all that made it possible, especially Kenny, without him many would not have gotton home or even where we where going!
Thanks for the excellent BBQ & hopefully we will have a few more next year. I hope that everyone's bikes are now OK. Casualties for the day: Al Ainsley missing turn off for Castle Eden & being rescued by Trainy's dad. Tank's puncture that he had no idea how to fix! Kenny buckling his front wheel after driving into a door & Robbie who had trouble late on with his peddles. Best dressed must go to the spritely Mr Mouser who looked just like a true pro.
And by the way my bum still hurts!
