A 2 minute silence for remembrance took place before the game kicked off. Quins were given an early scrum soon after to which ball was passed out to Sarah Butler who made a good run through the centre but was tackled by Chesham. Soon after, Quins were again on the attack. A pass by Amy Gibbons to Sarah Butler who, this time managed to get through the Chesham defence, scored the first try of the game. The try was converted by Jayne Goodliffe.
Quins wanted to capitalize on the possession they had but were pushed back by Chesham into their own half. From the back of a scrum, Laura Quinn picked the ball quickly and passed the ball out to Michelle Roast, who passed it out to the backs to gain the territory they had just lost. Jayne Goodliffe kicked the ball down towards the try line but could not ground the ball before it went out of the dead ball line.
Chesham kept fighting and trying to gain poession and territory. Chesham decided to make a kick from the 22 yard line for which Jo Ballentine caught the ball. The ball was quickly recycled by the forwards with interplay by Zoe Jeanes and Catherine Smith. At the breakdown Amy Smith took a quick pick and go to run 10 metres and score. Jayne made the conversion.
Quins continued to penetrate the Chesham defence. Kay Rees kicked the ball which was chased down by Sarah Butler. A turn over ball saw a pass out to Steph Gagne to score. The pass to Steph was deemed by the referee as forward, which meant the try was disallowed. From the line out minutes later, Quins stole the ball from Chesham, which saw the ball passed out to the backs, for which Kay Rees ran straight through the Chesham defence to score under the posts. Jayne converted the try.

Chesham nearly scored but Laura Quinn made a decisive tackle on the Chesham full back. Minutes later Isia Storey, Sarah and Jayne all supported each other by running quickly and making quick short passes but were unlucky not to score in the corner, as the ball was seen as being out on the touch line.
Another 2 tries from Quins quickly followed with Kay Rees running half the pitch to score under the posts and with Jayne kicking the ball over the Chesham defence to score in the corner.
Half Time score: Quins Ladies 33 – Chesham 0.
After the break Quins started as strongly as they had finished the first half. The ball went from the right to the left where Laura Quinn finished the move with a try in the corner.
Quins repeatedly gave away penalties which saw Quins move deeper into their own half. With the number of penalties against Quins given Chesham pushed their way over the try line to score. Quins kept their heads held high despite the number of penalties just given against them. From a scrum, Laura Quinn picked the ball and passed to Michelle Roast. Quins were making ground again which saw the backs play some of their moves.
From a Chesham line out Claire Brazier-Kobus stole the ball, and with some resolute defending stopped Chesham from gaining any ground, but despite the effort this was short lived as Quins were penalized for not rolling away which lead to Chesham muscling over the line to score from close range.
From the kick off, Quins put more pressure on Chesham. Michelle Roast charged down a Chesham kick to score. Chesham had a lot of the possession towards the end of the game but could not get through the Quins defence. A tackle by Catherine Smith prevented Chesham getting near their try line and with Quins managing to steal the ball, the ball was kicked out to touch to indicate the end of the game.
Final Score: Harlequin Ladies 43 – Chesham 12.
