Retford’s home form continued with a sometimes-scrappy affair but a win non-the less over East Leake.

Retford went into this game confidant they could bounce back from the disappointment of losing to local rivals Worksop the previous week and that they did.

The team was shuffled to cope with players attending weddings and Internationals and to try and find some sort of consistency in the back line where individuals needed to gel into a winning unit.  However they coped with the change well and started the better of the two teams and dominated the game to the throughout.

The points were scored as follows with tries by Mike Phillips, Paul Lancaster and Garry Woodcock.  Ben Lewis scored two of the conversions and a further 2 penalties and subsequently was awarded Man of the Match in the backs for his all round performance.  Man of the Match in the forwards was awarded to Garry Woodcock for hard work throughout the game.

The final score twenty-five points to eight to Retford.  Thank you to all the supporters who attended this week’s game.  Next week Retford travel to All Spartans O B in the National cup competition.
