East Retford Annual Rugby Sevens

East Retford RUFC’s annual Rugby Sevens Tournament, kindly sponsored by Ye Olde Sun Inn, Retford, will be held at the Club’s Ordsall Road Ground on Sunday, 17^th August, starting at 10.30 a.m.

Teams participating include Guisborough, winners of last year’s Tournament, and two each from hosts East Retford and first time entrants Mosborough. Other teams entered are from Barnsley, Burley, Chesterfield, Dinnington, Dronfield, Gainsborough, Market Rasen, Meden Vale and Ollerton.

The teams will be spread over four pools of four. They will play each other within their respective pools, at the end of which the teams finishing first and second in each pool will progress to the quarter-finals of the Bas Dudley Memorial Shield competition, while those finishing third and fourth will move into the quarter-finals of the Bill Boulby Plate competition. These two competitions will be run on a knockout basis.
