William Angus Fred Boulby
Born 14th April 1024, Died 8th November 2007
aged 83 years.
Bill was born locally at Barnby Moor and was educated at King
Edward V1 Grammar School. He became articled to the accountant Douglas Maurice
Pick from the age of 16 to 21 and completed his articles whilst in the army.
He joined the army at 18 and served in India, Burma, Siam
(Thailand) and Malaya.
After returning home he joined the territorial Army and was
awarded the Territorial Declaration (T.D.)
He qualified as an accountant in 1950 and became a partner in
Slaney Kenneywell Pick & Co. in 1952.
He married Jean in 1952 at East Retford Church and became a sole
practitioner from 1973 to 1997.
Jean and he brought 5 children into this world over a period of
17 years.
He was a stalwart member of East Retford Rugby Club and featured
in the initial formation of the Club (see the History page for a photo of the
"First Team) and naturally enough taking the office of Treasurer from 1957 to
1960.
In the last few years he suffered from Parkinson's disease which
frustrated him no end.
He will be sadly missed by all that knew him and Retford Rugby
Club extend their sincere condolences to his Wife, Sons and Daughters on their loss.
