NEWI Cefn Druids Reserves finally got their season underway with a comprehensive victory on Tuesday night.
Hat-tricks from Darren Williams and Tony Cann helped The Ancients to an emphatic 7-0 victory of Glyn Ceiriog Reserves at Plaskynaston Lane.
Williams and Cann had each grabbed a goal apiece in the first half before Druids ran rampant in the second half, with the strike duo grabbing another two each and Khoz Hematinafar adding his name to the score sheet.
The defeat was compounded even more for Glyn Ceiriog when one of their players broke his ankle in two places, making it a miserable night for the visitors.
Reserves manager Brian Manford said: “We played well and were a far superior side. We could have had a lot more goals such was our dominance.”
The reserves are next in action on Saturday afternoon when they visit Garden Village Reserves.
