Carmarthen Town 1 – 1 Cwmbran Town

A goal at either end of the first half ensured the spoils were shared and Sean Wharton’s unbeaten start to managerial life continues.

The Crows lined up with new signing Nicky Ward, signed from Tredegar Town, partnering Terry Green and Michael binning in defence. Young striker Luke Fernquest partnered top scorer Kaid Mohamed up front.

Kris Hanbury scored his first of the season when he gave the Crows an early lead by turning the ball into the net at the near post in the first minute.

Despite the Crows being dangerous on the break throughout the half, Carmarthen, who fielded no less than four ex-Crows during the match, equalised on the stroke of half time. Kevin Aherne-Evans heading in a Cotterrall corner.

Carmarthen went all out attack in the second half, and despite hitting the post three times and hitting the crossbar, they were unable to snatch all three points.

The Crows remain unbeaten so far under Sean Wharton, and will hope to get a first victory when bottom club Connah’s Quay Nomads visit Cwmbran Stadium this coming Saturday.
