Hartlepool make a number of changes from the side that beat Novos 13-8, Alan Brown is available and starts at number 8 in place of Andy Palmer who is unavailable. Back row player Dave Ryan who was outstanding last week as a second half sub, is preferred to Andrew Woodward who starts on the bench. The front row three of Hall, Cullinane and Ward is selected again after having a tough time last Saturday.
In the backs, Adam Redhead is available after missing last week and starts at ten with Patrick Wilson moving back to full back. Dave Standing is brought in on the left wing in place of Dean Ryan who has gone travelling for a year. Ryan tries and sheer pace will be a miss but Standing is no slouch and has a fair turn of pace him self.
Liam Lister comes in on the right wing after a number of impressive games for the seconds. The dependable centre partnership of Frankie Coulson and Lewis Humble is selected again. Their understanding is improving in every game and their solid defence has been a feature in recent weeks. The final back place sees Tom King at scrum half. King scored last week and has fitted into Mayfield Park after his move from Rovers.
On the bench, Chris Webster will be providing cover for the front row, with Andrew Woodward covering the back row and Richard Picknett is poised for his first team debut and will play a part in the backs on Saturday.
Pool seconds take their three game unbeaten run to Hollow Drift with a game against Durham thirds in the Durham League.
