The Bravehearts play a warm-up match in Perpignan against France at the home of Challenge Cup finalists Catalans Dragons on Saturday (6pm UK time) before the vital World Cup qualifier against Wales in Glasgow on Sunday 4 November.
Scotland will train at Huddersfield YMCA on Wednesday and Thursday this week before flying to Perpignan at 6am Friday morning.
They return to the UK on Sunday, have Monday and Tuesday off before re-grouping at the SportScotland National Sports Centre at Inverclyde near Largs on Wednesday 31 October.
Missing from the Scotland camp will be Hull FC loose forward Graeme Horne. The uncapped brother of Hull’s Scotland and Great Britain half-back Richard Horne has withdrawn from the squad through injury. His place has been taken by versatile forward Mark Slatter, who steps up from the A team. Slatter, of Hillsborough Hawks, is uncapped but has previously been an unused reserve in 2004.
Scotland need to avoid defeat by seven points or more to win Euro A Pool 1 and qualify automatically for the 2008 World Cup in Australia. If Wales top the group, Scotland will play either Ireland or Lebanon in the Repechage stage at Halton Stadium in Widnes on Friday 9 November at 8pm, live on Sky Sports TV. The winner of that game will play the winners of USA v Samoa for the final place in the World Cup at Featherstone Rovers on Wednesday 14 November, again live on Sky Sports.
The game against Wales is at Old Anniesland, 2pm kick off. Although the game sees Scotland Rugby League’s live television debut on Sky Sports, a big crowd is expected with tickets just £5 and £1 concessions. See www.scotlandrugbyleague.org.uk for more details
Press wishing to arrange interviews or filming at training or the airport should contact PRO Gavin Willacy on 07796 442041.
