The club was founded in 1899, although there are records of a rugby club in Ilkley much earlier than that.

Our Clubhouse and Grounds are freehold.

We are an Industrial and Provident Society: Registration number 29063R

We are fully paid up members of the Rugby Football Union and Yorkshire Rugby Football Union.

Ilkley Rugby Club has earned the prestigious RFU Seal of Approval (Sport England Clubmark equivalent), YEAR FOUR now awarded  This places the club amongst the most forward looking, well run clubs in the country. The club was awarded Seal of Approval Club of the Year North East and Yorkshire in 2008

Membership is absolutely unrestricted .

All administration and much of the day to day running of the club is by volunteers.

The 1^st XV play in the RFU Northern Division, Yorkshire League One.

There is also a 2^nd XV league.

Admission to the ground for League and Cup games is £3 for adults and £1 for OAP's. Children under 18 are admitted free.

The club colours are Black, Red and White, though the white has almost dissappeared from our latest 1st XV strip.

Players and coaches are strictly amateur.

Four senior teams play on most Saturdays during the season.

Junior teams from under 7’s to under 17’s play on Sundays.
