Club Development Plan
Ilkley Rugby club announced plans to totally redevelop its Stacks Field facilities. Architect Robin Snell's breathtakingly ambitious plans have been passed by the area planning committee and received a accolade from the Ilkley Civic Society. The Development will take the club into the 21st century and set it apart as one of the leading "junior" rugby clubs in the country. Now the club faces its biggest challenge - to raise the funds to do it, but this does not faze the committee who believe that they have the responsibility to hand on something fit for purpose for rugby playing generations to come in Ilkley. It's now full steam ahead to raise the funds. Please take an interest and do whatever you can to turn plans into reality!!! Lots more news to follow..... Ilkley new head coach
Following on from their successful 2007-2008 league campaign which resulted in promotion to North league two Ilkley Rugby club bade goodbye to Head coach Robin Kay who is retiring after many successful years coaching rugby. Chairman Richard Scargill expressed his thanks and best wishes to “coach Kay” and said that he hoped he would keep in contact with the club and its players. The club has not delayed filling the vacant post and are pleased to announce that the new Head Coach will be Hamish Pratt. Pratt has recently been playing with Huddersfield RUFC and has played through three promotions (and one relegation!) taking them into National league Three North last season. He is hanging up his boots as player but is looking forward to a new challenge with Ilkley. >

Dalesmen progress in Shield on swamp of a pitch at Yarnbury. Tries from Frost, Kelley, Botha and one courtesy of the referee, with Shanks adding two conversions and a penalty were enough to snuff out a stubborn Yarnbury side who threatened often but delivered just one try in reply, that coming from stalwart Moule. Just how rugby is sustainable on such a pitch is a matter for conjecture.

Tim Bucknall trophy comes home
After a long while in the safe hands of neighbours and friends at Otley the Tim Bucknall trophy finally fell into Ilkley's possession. A game played in great spirit and refereed within that spirit was won by the more adventurous side 40 points to 19. It was a good preparation for a gruelling five league matches and at least one Shield match. Scarborough, Selby, Brid, Sheffield and Salem are now on the horizon.
