Annual awards
To cap off the rowing event the club held a lunchtime celebration and awards ceremony. It was not possible to find a suitable date for the annual club dinner and the big fundraiser of May 22nd took precedent. However Duncan Feather, the club President and Ken Bernard, Secretary presided over the awards presentation.
The following awards were made:
Presidents award: Robin Kay
Chairmans award: Marcus Mountcastle
Clubman oty: Ken Bernard
Player oty: Liam Frost
1XV Player's player oty: Stewart Brewer
2XV Player oty: Johnny Shanks
3XV Player oty: Dean Wilson
3XV Player's player oty: Marcus Mountcastle
Most improved player oty:Josh Cockerham
Trainer oty: Adam Kershaw.
There were also presentations of souvenir photo albums (courtesy of image and style) to retiring coach Robin Kay, and both Gareth Archer and Richard Kemble who are returning to their native New Zealand this summer. Archer has completed a year with Malsis school and Kemble has been in Ilkley for two years. He originally intended only one but liked the area and the people so much he stayed for two.
