Halifax Town Supporters Trust
TRUST PAYS FIRST INSTALMENT OF CVA MONEY
By R Harris - June 15 2007
Following on from the recent well-publicised statement from the business consortium involved in taking control of Halifax Town AFC, a cheque for £24000 drawn from the dedicated CVA account has been paid by the Trust to the CVA administrator, Messrs P O'Hara and Co of Batley. >
Over the last few months, the Trust board has maintained contact with Mr O’Hara in respect of the CVA.
The Trust board has received independent advice from an Insolvency Practitioner recommended to them by Supporters’ Direct that this interim payment should be paid. The Trust board was able to negotiate an extension to Mr O’Hara’s deadline for payment in order it could receive assurances that the planned takeover of the Club would take place. The money will form part of the final settlement of the CVA from the remaining Trust CVA fund and money from the new investors. We expect to complete this shortly after the takeover is finalised.
The Trust Board continues to liaise professionally with the Football Club, associated personnel and the business consortium.
Thank you for your continued support.
