SECOND DIVISION FIXTURES ARE OUT!!!
By Webmaster, Garden Village AFC - July 2 2003
The fixtures for the forthcoming Welsh Football League Second Division are out, and you will be able to see them right here on this Unofficial Garden Village web site... >
We now have the entire schedule for our first season back in the Welsh Football League Second Division.

The Village travel to Aberdare for the first game of the new season on Saturday August 17th to face Aberaman Athletic, who only last season dumped us out of the League Cup quite heavily by beating us 4-1, then still a Second Division side.

Third Division champions Pontyclun will be our opponents in the first home game to be played next season, on Saturday August 23rd. The return fixture on Saturday January 10th.

The two other promoted clubs, Caldicot and Skewen, will visit Stafford Common on September 20th and November 15th respectively. With the Village travelling to Jubilee Way and Tennant Park on January 24th and March 20th.

Penrhiwceiber, who were relegated with the Village last term will host the first of the two games at Glasbrook Field just after Christmas on December 27th. The return game will be the last scheduled home match of the season on April 10th.

As far as derbies go next season, there will be games against West Wales rivals Milford United at home on Sunday October 12th, and at Marble Hall Road on December 20th. We also travel to Carmarthenshire on October 25th to face Ammanford, with them making the return trip on February 14th.

The first of the two Swansea derbies next season will be played at Stafford Common on October 18th against Morriston Town from the east of the county, with the Village travelling to the Dingle for the second match on the 21st of February.

The last game of the season will see the Village travel to Treharris Athletic on Saturday April 17th.

And in the League Cup, the Village have been handed a very tough home tie against Welsh Football League champions Bettws. A side that shocked Welsh football when they went from playing local league football to becoming Welsh League champions from when the team was formed just 8 years ago. This game will be played on Saturday September 6th.
