Bangor City have crashed out of Europe after a 5-2 defeat away at FC Gloria 1922 Bistrita of Romania, losing 6-2 on aggregate over both legs.
Bangor could not have asked for a better start when on 16 minutes Ricky Evans drilled home a 30-yard free-kick to put the Citizens in the lead on the day, and level at 1-1 on aggregate.
But an Adrian Anca goal just before the break levelled things up, and put the Romanians back in the lead on aggregate.
Early in the second half, Romanian international Lucian Sanmartean and Sergiu Mindrean put the tie beyond Bangor, by going 3-1 up.
Ten minutes before the end, Bangor defender Alan Goodall was sent off, for a challenge on Vasile Popa.
In the closing stages, Sanmartean grabbed his second goal, before Gloria substitute Ciprian Bucuroaia grabbed the fifth.
Bangor striker Ross Jefferies followed Goodall by getting sent off in the last minute, and a consolation penalty was converted by Ricky Evans deep into injury time.
