Just like London buses, we cant get a win all season and then 2 come along at once !
At the very pleasent Ombersley ground our boys went through the usual Chippy team workout (video now available £9.99), however our opposition seemed a little less enthusiastic as they warmed up in jeans, tee-shirts and flip flops !
Tigga won the toss and stuck um in, unfortuanalty their innings seem to start in a familer way to most weeks, Chippy bowled with no luck (again) and Deano struggled with his L & L. But we plugged away knowing that anything less than 250 we had a chance of getting. New boy Jack Lad Phillips held a good catch and 'Fingers' Quiney had 2 excellant bowling spells (2-38). Alvin bowled well again (2-66) and had a new spin partner in the return of Matt 'Big Dog' Dudley, Big Dog started well with a tidy first 5 overs, however i've no idea what happened in the 6th over as Big Dog lost the plot and some sort of 'bowlitus' took over, if it didnt bounce twice, it went over the batsmens head, very strange !
Ombersley 232 -5 in 50 overs (Top Tea - 5 bears (top marks on the bear scale))
This weeks pinch hitter was Postie, who got stitched up like a kipper as he nearly had his head removed twice by the opening bowler ! But a 2nd wicket stand of 76 by the Earl (54) and Hemo (12) repaired the damage as we progressed steadily towards our target. Alvin (33) and Tigga (26) batted well, but it was the knock of Adam Quiney (48 not out) that saw us home with 3 balls to spare.
Wombourne 233 - 7 in 54.3 overs
Press Officer Man of the Match - Adam Quiney
Press Officer Champagne moments - Big Dogs 6th over, and Joe and Tracey's undercover operation (wear disguises and hide in a pub !).
