Season Reviews Otley held a place in National League Division 1 for 7 of the last 8 seasons. Last season saw Otley secure an immediate return to NLD 1 having been crowned champions of National League Division 2. The following review covers the last 6 seasons.

NATIONAL LEAGUE DIVISION TWO 2007/2008

Otley finished as Champions of with 23 wins out of 26 matches played.

Robin Kitching with 230 points was the Club's leading points scorer despite missing a number of matches early in the season.

Robin Kitching (15) was the top try-scorer, followed by Danny Smith (9), Steve Parsons & Xavier Andre (both 8) and Ian Shuttleworth & Matt Stockdale (both 7).

NATIONAL LEAGUE DIVISION ONE 2006/2007

Otley finished in 15th place in the league table with 6 wins and 24 defeats.

Simon Binns with 108 points was the Club's leading points scorer despite missing the last 16 league games of the season. He had a kicking strike-rate of 79.59% with 39 successful kicks out of 49 attempts.

Danny Smith (11) was the top try-scorer in his first season with the Club, followed by Xavier Andre (5) and Maifea Maifea, Steve Parsons and Matt Stockdale (all 4).

The only 'Double' was recorded against Waterloo.

Home wins were also recorded against Cornish Pirates, Nottingham and Moseley.

An away win was also registered at Sedgley Park.

NATIONAL LEAGUE DIVISION ONE 2005/2006

Otley finished in ninth place in the league table with 10 wins, 1 draw and 15 defeats.

Otley scored 64 tries in total (33 by the backs and 31 by the forwards) while conceding 77 tries.

Otley were awarded 19 yellow cards and 1 red card.

Simon Binns with 143 points was the Club's leading points scorer despite missing the last 8 league games of the season. He had a kicking strike-rate of 71.83% with 51 successful kicks out of 71 attempts.

Mark Luffman (9) was the top try-scorer in his final season with the Club, followed by Dave Scully (6), Waisale Sovatabua, Andy Brown and Glen Wilson (5).

'Doubles' were recorded against Nottingham and Sedgley Park.

Home wins were also recorded against Plymouth Albion, Doncaster and Newbury Blues.

NEC Harlequins were promoted and were replaced by Leeds Tykes who were relegated from the Premiership.

No clubs were relegated while Moseley and Waterloo were promoted from National League Division Two.

Simon Binns with 241 points was the leading points scorer.

Waisale Sovatabua (9) was the top try-scorer followed by Ian Shuttleworth (6), Dave Scully, Ed Thorpe, Chris Hall (all 5) and Neil Taylor (4).

'Doubles' were recorded against Penzance & Newlyn Pirates, Rotherham Titans, Nottingham, Sedgley Park, London Welsh, Henley Hawks and Orrell.

The above league table include the decision to amend the Coventry 22-15 Rotherham match result into a 0-0 win to Rotherham who were awarded 4 league points and Coventry nil league points following the second failed appeal attempt by Coventry on 17 January 2005.

Bristol Shoguns were promoted and were replaced by Harlequins who were relegated from the Premiership.

Orrell and Henley Hawks were relegated and replaced by Doncaster and Newbury from National League Division Two.

NATIONAL LEAGUE DIVISION ONE 2003/2004

Simon Binns with 310 points was the leading points scorer.

For the second season running, Neil Law (9) was the top try-scorer followed by Dave Scully (8), Ian Shuttleworth (6), Simon Binns & Will Darby (both 5). Jason Oakes (4) was the top try-scoring forward.
