Gateshead Preview

By Dave Picken - April 5 2019
Gateshead Preview Things are now out of our hands, but we go into the final home league game of the season against Gateshead knowing that a win is required if we are to stand any chance of achieving the play-off place. Then we will have to wait to see how Northern get on at home to South Shields Westoe ....

Last week’s last-minute defeat at leaders Durham City allowed Northern to leapfrog us and it is they who now occupy the play-off place in Durham and Northumberland One
We go into this week's game without skipper Ryan Painter who was red carded for his part in a melee which broke out as City were awarded their last-minute match winning penalty. Luke Mallinson will move to scrum half with Stu Waites captaining the side.

Will Hilditch will also be havihg an enforced rest after taking a knock in the early stages last week.

WEST: Stu Waites (capt) , Max Tennant,  Davy Heckles, Peter Youll, Adam Peacock,  Zac Southern, Luke Mallinson, Danny Cookland, Andrew Rollins, Adam Brown,  Jake Linighan,  Chris Atkins, Alex Barker, Isaac Robinson, Jay Corbett.

Changes: John Bunter, Michael Hogan, Callum Johnston.

Here we go - last home game so let's have Brinkburn bouncing !

All set doon Sooth Stan ?

I was in Sooth Shields today and I found a fiver at Souter Lighthouse which tells me that SS Westoe will beat Northern tomorrow - all will be well.
