Ponteland Preview
After last week's excellent show against a hard working and confident Stockton we now face the two bottom sides - Ponteland and Whitby - in the next league games ...

Last week's 19-3 win effectively created a three horse race for the two top spots in D&N1 and we are currently in that third place just two points behind joint leaders Durham City and Northern.

There are all kinds of computations with City having to play both ourselves and Northern as well as Stockton and in-form Westoe having a say.

The mission, of course  is to win all seven of the remaining games and definitely avoid any proverbial banana skins. Ponteland, coached now by former Westie Chunky Chappell, will be keen to provide that slip up this week.

They have only won one game so far - at Gateshead back in September - and lost 63-12 in their last home game against Northern.

However, they played well at Brinkburn back in October and we were happy to eventually run out 29-22 winners.

West: Luke Mallinson, Max Tennant, David Heckles, Zac Southern, Callum Johnston, Stu Waites, Ryan Painter (captain), Adam Coates, Andrew Rollins, Danny Cookland, John Bunter, Michael Hogan, Alex Barker, Adam Brown, Chris Atkins.

Changes: Isaac Robinson, Jonny Hunter, Adam Peacock.

Stand Fast Boys - No Surrender !

This week's BP Prize is a true, one off.... "The Minesweepers Manual" by Tony Wilson is an absolute must have for Drinkers on a tight budget. This version includes not only the Manual itself in which thrifty drinkers can learn all the theoretical aspects, but also a DVD showing Tony in action. The DVD covers 12 different scenarios at various Rugby Clubs across the NE in which Tony ilustrates and then explains the various Minesweepers tools and techniques he has perfected over the last 50 years.

It's a Cracker !

Stan - can you check the stock levels in the Lock Up (Cairo 1a) please - this one might be a goer - cheers.

Yes -all set.

Wrestling with the correct term for a player scoring three tries. BBC and ITV both go for hat-trick BUT Prima Doner (in Coronation Street) omits the hyphen. I have every faith in Mallo scoring four today on the back of Hardwick Man's 'Put them to the sword!' However, since my influence on young Hilditch has been slightly mixed I shall keep a low profile.

All set for a rush on this week's star prize. How much would a young player save over the next fifty years armed with Willer's guile and ability to exploit a weak defence?

I can't compete with Hardwick Man or Stand fast! so I shall just add an oldie but goldie

OGGY OGGY OGGY
