Stockton Preview
Eight games to go and the promotion race is definitely hotting up. We are just one point behind  the joint leaders but have a big hurdle to jump this week with the arrival of a Stockton side which  prides itself on getting results against the top teams ...

They have won at City and earned a draw at Northern while down to 14 men for most of the game.

As a result  they are now just one place behind West, but we have a ten point advantage and go into the game off the back of two away wins in which we scored a total of 90 points.

The last game was two weeks ago and the break has meant a number of players are now fit again. That includes coach Stu Waites and No 8 Jay Corbett with Davy Heckles making his first appearance on his return from Horden.

He served his apprenticeship in the Stags at Bishop Auckland and scoring four tries in the process. With Adam Larkin and Luke Mallinson both away he will be on the wing against Stockton with Stu restored to No 10.

Up front there's a powerful front row with Danny Cookland starting and the verdsatile Adam Brown dropping into the back row in place of Isaac Robinson who is also unavailable.

West : Zac Southern, David Heckles, Will Hilditch, Peter Youll, , Callum Johnston, Stu Waites, Ryan Painter (capt), Adam Coates, Andrew Rollins, Danny Cookland, John Bunter,  Jake Linighan, Adam Brown, Scott Butcher, Jay Corbett.

Changes: Michael Hogan, Chris Atkins, Alex Barker.

Stand Fast Boys - No Surrender !

All set Stan ? I'M just along the coast from you actually, just off Casablanca if you fancy a pint or G&T.

This week's BP prize is a classic DVD, Re-Enhanced from the original BetaMax edition and includes a signed photo of DP himself in full 3 Piece Crimpolene Safari Suit & Paisley Tie.

"Get Picken" is a gangland drama set in the NE against a gritty backdrop of run down, post industrial decline. Filmed exclusively throughout the East Durham this classic is a non stop journey through the seedy world of extortion, crime and vice.

The film carries a warning as the final scene, filmed at Blackhall Rocks, contains material which some viewers may find upsetting.

A stellar cast includes:-

DP in the title role
Les Smith as "Mr Big"
Peter Olsen as "The Taxman"
JC "Chainsaw" Cole as himself

And introducing " Paul "Purdey" Mason as "The Sniper"

If only I'd known I'd have driven across, Les. At least there will be 3 of us tuning in - now the Club's Official No. 1 Veteran has turned his back on foreign trips.

This month is quite a struggle. We have run out of Yorkshire tea bags and I'm not home until March 1st - life can be a struggle at times.

Thanks, mate. Your support is a great comfort. I'm putting on a brave face and trying to get behind the boys - but it's not easy.

Bit disappointed that we didn't get the B P. But a win is a win. Very enjoyable game.
