Medicals Preview
On paper we have the ideal opportunity to bounce back from our first defeat of the season when we entertain second bottom Medicals - followed by a week off from league duty and then another home game against Horden and Peterlee ...

However, it won't be easy despite Medicals losing all four games so far - conceding more than 170 points in the process - and it's never an easy game against our mates from Horden.

We were unsually lethargic in some areas against a well organised and competitive Northern last week, but did manage another try bonus point in the 38-27 defeat.

And we will need to continue running in the points if we are to keep up with both Northern and Durham City who are above us in the league. After just four games both those sides have scored more than 200 points, while we have managed 129 albeit against some  tough opposition in the likes of Westoe and the derby against Rovers.

The squad is boosted by the return to the club of prop Danny Cookland from Rovers and return from injury of Gav Painter and Alex Barker. With good numbers out at training this week there's also a very strong Stags squad heading off to Horden and Peterlee.

West: Zac Southern, Will Hilditch, Peter Youll, Gavin Painter, Callum Johnston,  Stu Waites, Ryan Painter (capt), Adam Coates, Andrew Rollins, Adam Brown, Jake Linighan, Chris Atkins, Alex Barker, Isaac Robinson, Jay Corbett.

Changes: Danny Cookland, John Bunter, Liam Rutherford
