Dinnington Preview

By Dave Picken - March 23 2018
Dinnington Preview Four games to go and another crunch game with the trip down the M1 to face the side just one point behind us in the league ..

It's going to be tense on Dinnington's sloping hill top pitch against a side also fighting for its life.

Neither club has distinguished itself in recent weeks with the home side’s last win back on February 3rd and our last triumph against Bradford and Bingley at the end of January.

Since then twe've been dealt a series of injury blows.  Skipper Ryan Painter is  out for the rest of the season with a broken leg, while brother Gavin is still out with concussion.

Last week Adam Coates also had to go off with a head injury so he's having his compulsory rest. Fortunately, Adam Brown has been back and training this week and comes in at hooker with Andrew Rollins at loosehead from where he will lead the side.

Peter Youll's tackling was missed last week at Cleckheaton,  but he's also back with Liam Checksfield unavailable. However, Rob Thorn, chosen as our man  of the match by Cleck, is jetting back into the UK on Saturday morning and will be  on one wing with Matt Tyers on the other.

One bonus from last week's defeat as the return in the second half of Chris Atkins  for his first league game since damaging knee ligaments in September 2016. He looked in impressive shape at Moorend, almost scored, and is likely to play a bigger role from the bench this week.

West: Adam Peacock, Matt Tyers,  Will Hilditch, Peter Youll, Rob Thorn, Zac Southern, Matt Siddle,  Andrew Rollins (captain), Adam Brown, John Bunter, Jake Linighan, Alex Barker, Scott Butcher, Andrew Turner.

Changes: Chris Atkins, Johnny Hunter, Joe Willis.

Here you go then - let's have it !

3 Master Race in the squad - 3.5 if we can count Rob who I reckon was a Red Head too prior to sdopting his Tyson Fury look 😂

Looking forward to a win and an Off Door on the way home.

Stand fast boys - no surrender !
