Bridlington Preview

By Dave Picken - January 31 2018
Bridlington Preview There is a feeling that luck didn't go with us in losing 28-10 at home to Brid earlier in the season ..

Unfortunately, the referee ruled that Andy Turner's effort (pictured) had been held up as Brid piled in the bodies.  There were also strong claims for a penalty try later in the game which then led to a breakaway try for the visitors..

That was back in October and a lot of rugby has been played since then.

Brid have done very well on their first season back in North One. They are currently in third place although they have played a few more games than other sides in the top half. So far they've lost two homes games - to fellow high flyers Alnwick and Driffield.

By comparison we have yet to win on the road, but go into the game on the back of much improved home form, and with the prospect of an unchanged starting XV - something which is a rarity these days.

The Stags are due to host Gateshead on Saturday with the Vets off to Consett and the Academy taking on Durham City on Sunday afternoon.

West: Zac Southern, Will Hilditch, Liam Checksfield, Peter Youll, Joe Willis, Gavin Painter, Ryan Painter (captain), Adam Coates, Adam Brown, Andrew Rollins, John Bunter, Jake Linighan, Scott Butcher, Jordan Foulds, Andrew Turner.

Reps: Jay Corbett, Johnny Hunter, Adam Peacock.

Absolutely fantastic to see an unchanged Squad for once; a Coaches dream in some respects.

Good Luck to all players & coaches this weekend.

Stand fast lads - No Surrender !
