Alnwick Preview
North One East is proving to be a strange league this season with another surprise set of results last week. Our win against an experienced Cleckheaton was a boost - sadly it didn't affect our league position as all our closest rivals also won. That included Northern who pulled off a very good win against our opponents this week - third placed Alnwick ..

Ideally, any coach would love to select a winning side the following week - sadly it just doesn't happen anymore. This week's problems are with front rows and, as a result, the Stags game at Alnwick has been called off.

Adam Coates is out with an ear injury, and CeeJay Beales is unavailable, so the energetic Jordan Foulds starts at hooker with Adam Peacock coming in on the wing for CeeJay and Liam Checksfield for Joe Willis.

Will Hilditch, last week's man of the match, continues at full back with Adam Brown coming back from University in Manchester to provide front row cover on the bench.

Carl Miller made an obvious impact when he came off the bench last week and he'll lead the side from the kick off this week. With John Bunter working abroad the second row partneship of Joe Rafferty and Jake Linighan continues.

Alnwick will be keen to get back on track after their derby defeat. In their previous home game they narrowly beat bottom side Dinnington 8-5 - a sign of how tight this league can be and how sides can be affected by one or two key players missing.

West: Will Hilditch, Liam Checksfield, Peter Youll, Gavin Painter, Adam Peacock, Zac Southern, Ryan Painter,  Andrew Rollins, Jordan Foulds, Alex Key, Jake Linighan, Joe Rafferty, Carl Miller( captain), Scott Butcher, Andy Turner.

Changes: Adam Brown,  Craig Hadwen, Ben Armstrong.

Good luck to everyone - especially this new lad on the wing - Pearson ? Is he another Ginga by any chance like young Peacock Jnr.

Three of The Master Race on duty v Alnwick so it's bound to be a win.

Stand fast lads - no surrender !
