 Cleckheaton Preview
First team skipper Carl Miller returns to the first team squad for the first time since breaking his leg in two places at Dinnington back in April. The visitv of Cleckheaton is the first of the 2.15 kick offs ...

He'll take his place in a squad which urgently needs to return Brinkburn back to a fortress - this season there’s only been one win so far at Catcote Road.

We have suffered more than our fair share of injuries and were dealt another blow in training this week with powerful forward Michael Hogan damaging knee ligaments. It looks like he will join Sam Miller in being out for the rest of the season.

"Hogey" was likely to have come into the side in the rare absence of John Bunter with Matt Siddle and Luke Mallinson also missing through injury.

Cleckheaton, relegated from the national leagues last season, also lost a few players during the summer and are busy consolidating in the lower league - winning four and losing four.

We competed well in the set-piece at Driffield last week, and came hiome with a rare try bonus point , but paid a heavy price for the missed tackles which allowed the home side to run in some long range efforts in their nine-try haul.

West squad: Adam Peacock, Ceejay Beales,  Joe Willis, Peter Youll, Gavin Painter, Will Hilditch, Zac Southern Ryan Painter (captain), Alex Key, Andrew Rollins, Adam Coates, Jake Linighan, Joe Rafferty, Jordan Baggs, Scott Butcher, Andrew Turner, Carl Miller, Jordan Foulds.

Cleckheaton: James Wilson, Brad Marsden,  Mikey Hayward, Matt Piper, Pat Foulstone, Mike Swetman, Jack Bickerdike, Paul Turner, Ben Thrower, Niall Jackson,  Ryan Piercy, Luke Pearson, Neil Cherryholme, Josh Plunkett, Jack Seddon.

Changes: James Crowther,  Thiu Barnard,  Andy Piper.
