We are currently third bottom and seven points behind fourth bottom Huddersfield YMCA. So, whatever happens at fifth placed Driffield, it won't be enough to move us up the league.
It’s a far cry from last season when we finished third top although this season was always going to be one of rebuilding after losing so many key players to injury and work moves out of the area.
There are signs that some of the long term injury problems are clearing up with skipper Carl Miller close to playing, after breaking his leg in two places last season, and fellow back row Alex Barker resuming training after breaking a bone in his foot.
Liam Checksfield, last season’s top try scorer, has only managed one appearance so far and he won’t be available this week after injuring his ribs with Northumbria University.
However, most of the side who battled away against the wind and Bridlington last week will be available and anxious to put the record straight.
In a key area of the game last week we saw Andy Turner's try ruled out, as the referee was late on the scene and couldn't see the grounding. Moments later, while giving us a penalty advantage, we looked to be in on the right wing only for a knock on to break up the attack.
A penalty try would have been nice, but we had to settle for the original penalty and promptly fell to a sucker punch breakaway when a clearance kick caught in the wind and wrong footed Luke Mallinson. It didn't help our spirits that Brid's try scorer was the very player who had stopped the attack and who many thought should have been having an enforced rest.
However, you make your luck by working hard and these are the lads tasked with getting things back on track: Matt Siddle, Luke Mallinson, Will Hilditch, Peter Youll, Gavin Painter,, Zac Southern, Ryan Painter (captain), Adam Coates, Andrew Rollins, Alex Key, Joe Rafferty, John Bunter, Jake Linighan, Scott Butcher, Jordan Baggs, Andy Turner, Ben Armstrong, Adam Peacock, Adam Brown, Ross Wood.
