Pyman Tonight

By Dave Picken - April 19 2016
Pyman Tonight West III's take on Tech at Brinkburn tonight in the Pyman Shield (kick off 6.15) as the talking stops and the games begin ....

Both the Cup and Shield competitions have been badly affected by a debate over the make-up of squads in recent seasons with Hartlepool, Seaton and BBOB all withdrawing this year.

That is a situation which must be resolved for the health of the game in the town, and to honour a proud history. The Pyman attracts bigger crowds than many league games and allows a lot of players to thoroughly enjoy a competitive end of season, as well as to enjoy the limelight.

Because of the withdrawls whoever wins tonight will face Rovers in the final - they played Horden in a double header at the weekend and won 45-0.

West Stags travel to the New Friarage tomorrow in the Pyman Cup itself.
