World Cup Comes to West
The Webb Ellis Trophy and the Rugby World Cup roadshow will be coming to Brinkburn on the afternoon of Monday August 3rd ..

The massive honour for the club and the town was formally announced by the organisers today as they revealed details of the tour which will culminate at the start of the competition  http://www.rugbyworldcup.com/trophy-tour/north-&-north-east

Ourselves and Mowden Park are the two Durham clubs to be chosen to host the roadshow in our areas.

We will be staging a "West World Cup Weekend" with a series of coaching and social events starting on Saturday August 1st. So let's get the whole club involved, don't make any holiday plans and watch out for more details.

The UK and Ireland  Trophy Tour will launch on 10 June – 100 days before the opening match of the Rugby World Cup 2015 – and take in over 300 events.

The Webb Ellis Cup will travel through Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Wales and England, before  arriving at Twickenham on September 18th, ahead of England’s opening game against Fiji.

The Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour follows the successful international tour, which has completed 12 of its 15 international visits so far and we are one of 100 rugby clubs, organisations and rugby festivals who will be hosting the tour.

“The countdown to Rugby World Cup 2015 is on and fans can now really begin to plan their Tournament experience, be it through watching the matches, through Fanzones, the Festival of Rugby and the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour,” said Debbie Jevans, Chief Executive Officer of England Rugby 2015.
