We started with a 69-0 victory over Conse 4 weeks ago, sporting West men tinker, Anth Carr, Beji, Carl Miller and Gav Robbo. This complement accompanied with our regular dedicated West boys, well led via captain James Tyers was the perfect blend of current and nearly current! As the plentiful supporters will agree it was a fantastic game of West rugby!!
Next on the agenda is the 34-5 win over Rovers! A totally different squad from the Consett game but a true west squad again, highlighting our strength in depth! At the friarage we were a little caught up in the occasion of the derby and although committed and dedicated we played their game with only two break away ( prop and hooker) tries via Hadwen and Wales in the first half!

The second half was a different story with Greg Edwards [pictured] making his return from long term injury at 10 and Formo moving to his most effective position at 9 we managed to show them what we were all about!! Stand out moments were the two front row long distance tries, our back row performance in the second half (Jackson, clergy, barker), Quinn finishing beautifully andteam commitment!!!
Onto today..a 35-5 win over Bishop Auckland 2's.. I started the day with 9 men available and by 2 pm, thanks to SOS, I had 17 however that included me (80 minutes I might add!), Peter Wilko (second row and machine) and SOS (horrible mush, any position!!).

The usual lads were also available as they always are and did what they always do each week! James Tyers continues to lead from the front as captain, dominating lineouts and scrums all game and leading well! Strong runs in the back line from Chris Sewell and Matt Tyers were causing problems throughout the match with the returning Greg Edwards outstanding at 10 with a brace!!
The work rate and skill set of our back row was again a highlight today, they were all over the park as they always are born in attack and defence! I think the highlight of the game was the lads celebrating a try saving tackle from our German import Mika in the second half,I think he is still smiling now..that's what rugby is all about!! Special thanks to SOS, mixie and Peter Wilko doing a sterling job in the second row again today..proper rugby men!
