Richmond 15 West Ladies 35

By Our Reporter - February 28 2012
With four players making their debut in women's rugby West were unsure what the outcome of the game would be. The aim was just to get everyone involved in the game, play what we saw in front of us and protect that ball - and most importantly enjoy the game.

West lost the toss and Richmond opted to choose sides resulting in West taking the kick off.

Nikita Cadman kicked the ball perfectly down the pitch and the whole West team followed and won possession of the ball to drive over the line for the first try in the first 30 seconds of the game! What a start to competitive rugby for the girls.

With some lovely forward play taking the ball it the field and then realising the backs a further 6 try’s where scored throughout the game.

Everyone put 100% into the game and the commitment in defence was fantastic.

West Ladies: Jodi-Lea Perks, Natalie Thomas,  Danielle Coulton,  Lyndsey Burns, Ali Lodge, Lucy Averell Pippa Bell (C), Nikita Cadman, Faye Kendrick, Kelly Gooding, Sophie Craggs
