Official West Hartlepool RFC
Cheslin full back Morley Preview
By Dave Picken - January 9 2009
There are some interesting selections for both the first and the Stags as we start a busy month of league and cup action. Both Aaron Myers and Tim Sawyer will be on Stags duty together with Rob Thorn while Iain Dixon is rested as a precaution after taking a knock to the head against Rovers. >

Paul Vinnicombe and Jamie Connolly return to first team action at Morley [kick off 3.00], with Paul Williamson at scrum half for the firsts and Darren Thomas in the 9 shirt for a strong looking Stags side.. Theyare home to Morpeth.

Colin Cheslin is the man to take over the 15 shirt with brother Andrew on one wing and Gareth Kerr on the other. The experienced Steve Smart steps up to the first team bench as back row cover where Dominic Morrison also returns after his impressive pre-Christmas displays.

Sawyer won't be there to see it, but he's hoping for revenge after Morley inflicted our first home league defeat for over a year back at the start of the season. They shaded a tight game and had hopes of promotion at the time.

But two defeats in their last league games mean they're comfortably mid-table just above ourselves.

Firsts away to Morley kick off 3.00 meet 12.00 Colin Cheslin, Gareth Kerr, Jamie Connolly, Peter Hodgson, Andrew Cheslin, Paul Moss, Paul Williamson, Anth Carr [capt], Andrew Dixon, Chris Stewart, Tom Dixon, Iain Robinson, Dan Boatman, Dominic Morrison, Paul Vinnicombe. Reps: Adam Coates, Neil Howe, Stephen Smart

Good luck Horden.

The major issue for me tomorrow is that we can afford to leave Myers, Thorn, and Sawyer at home and rest Ian Dixon and still have a strong looking side out at Morley.

Looking at all of the sides picked for tomorrow it shows just how far we have come and I am sure that 2009 will be another good one for West at every level. Well done to all of the coaches from minis upwards and to everyone who gives their time to making the club a success.
