Pre-Season Starts In Earnest

Training begins in earnest this week for all West teams. More than 50 have been turning out twice a week -including impressive new signing Paul Vinnicombe [pictured]. That's being stepped up with special RFU session on the new experimental laws and gym session with the Oaksway netball team. >

Gez Geritz is warning the players that the session with the ladies from Oaksway at Brierton on Wednesday will be one of the hardest they will face. The team are superfit and last season finished runners-up in the top league in the whole country.

Tim Sawyer is selecting a squad of 25 to take part in the session.

The fist Saturday session was held at the weekend with Rob Thorn making it up from Dungeness.
