Any club player eligible for senior rugby who has not been selected for the 1sts or Stags and who wishes to play at a more competitive level than the mainly social based side The Ams.
Does that sound reasonable?

it seems to me players dont actually get a good crack at the wip and get noticed by the coaches is that fair to say? and like its been sid before more help should be their to help younger lads coming through and help their tacticl nouse an playing mind!

We had 34 players playing for the firsts last season, including lots of lads making their debuts, so that doesn't really back your argument up.
The same went for the Stags and just look at who won all the awards at the end of the season Ams dinner.
And why do you keep changing your username? Please stick to one of them as it confuses everyone.

Look at the lads who played for 3Ams last season, I bet none of them are complaining, They gained a boat load of experience, and i presume at training the advice is offered as well.

In my day we were running more teams than this. If you didn't want to train you just turned up on a Saturday morning with your boots to see which team was short .
If you did train then you knew on a Friday night which team you were selected for. If you played well enough you ended up being selected for a better team next week or the week after.

Dave - by the very nature of our player base then yes it will be a young side

Andy - I too would expect to see those not selected for the first 3 teams playing for the Ams

Huh - not really sure how to tackle this - from my own perspective i would be disappointed if players thought I was not giving them a ' crack of the whip'. I think it is important to remember that as a player when you are given a chance you must take it - you cannot just turn up and play. If you are serious about your rugby then you must turn up and Perform.

I have made the point to last years 3Ams and I will make the point to this years Bucks that if they want to move up the teams then they must be outstanding playing for the Bucks if they have aspirations for the Stags. The players above you are too good for you to perform any less.

As for the point about guidance - you really must be brave and approach people you think can help you. I have found from experience as a coach that it is very difficult to get round players after games in any great numbers, perhaps only 2 or 3 at a time. I think you may be surprised how people will be more than happy to give you their input once they know you are interested.

We will need more experienced players/coaches to help out at training sessions. Thats the way to get more one to one coaching.

Lads did well yesterday and as the score suggests the lads have improved since last season.

Gritty performance and the lads will only get better but the speedy wingers need to see more ball against the battering ram / old war horse type opposition.

Good to catch up with a few old faces.

Thought it was a very entertaining game and amazed it finished 7 all. From a blue perspective I thought our scrummaging was outstanding however lineout needs to improve. Our defense was strong and we looked promising going forward. All in all for the first run out of the season and with a number of bodies to come back it looked promising.Best of luck to you all for the coming season
