Gav Stags 6 Boro 0
By Old P - April 14 2008
After the successes of the last few weeks the Stags and their supporters were hoping for a good performance against Middlesbrough second XV as a prelude to Wednesday evenings encounter with Seaton Carew’s first team. >
This, the Stags last Candy league game of the 2008 season was always going to be a tough encounter. With the stags endeavouring to consolidate their second place in the league and 7th placed Middlesbrough, having chosen a very strong team hoping to upset them.

This game was not the high scoring one that the Stags supporters have become accustomed to of late. As the very strong Middlesbrough squad made them work very hard for every piece of possession through out the game. However the players and coaches can be very pleased with the resilience and strength that the whole squad showed in controlling the majority of possession throughout the game.

Which resulted in Middlesbrough rarely entering the Stags half throughout the game and conceding two kickable penalties in the second half on their own twenty two on the 63rd and 73rd minute mark both kicked by Robinson G. (6-0) to win this very close game.

This experience should stand the squad in good stead for their trip to: Hornby Park K/O 18-30 Wednesday the 16th of April.

Stags: Thomas, Hare (Cavey 60), Armstrong, Butcher, Swales G Robinson, Williamson, Greenwell (Hogan 50, Coates 75), Wood, Coates (Greenwell 60), Lloyd, Robson, Smart (Jackson 70), Miller, Garside.
