Not that there are any prizes for coming just behind the promotion play off side. But, after a season in which so many young faces have had to be drafted in, few could argue that it would not be a fair achievement.
Those young faces earn their places on merit as the season draws to a close. Norris at prop, Dixon in the second row, Myers in the back row, Young at scrum half and Painter on the wing - all teenage products of our mini and juniors.
It means that Paul Rudd will have to be content with a place on the bench alongside Carl Robinson and Tom Dougherty - another youngster who impressed on his debut at Driffield.
Brett Cullinane makes a welcome return to the front row - in place of Anth Carr who is sampling the delights of Dubai at Jonathon Tones's stag do. With the likes of Henry and Mark Baggs also there it's to be hoped that Anth makes it back for the last game in a fortnight's time.
Morpeth will once again make challenging opposition. They have a had stuttering season, and some very strange results, but looked their normal selves when shading the game at Brinkburn through the the tremendous boot of Matthew Jinks.
He has missed most fo the season thanks to Fire Brigade season and that, no doubt, is the main reasson for Morpeth's malaise this year.
West Hare, Todd, Edwards, Howe, Painter, Tighe [capt], Young, Cullinane, A Dixon, Norris, C Miller, T Dixon, D Boatman, Myers, J Boatman. Reps: Rudd, Robinson, Dougherty.
