The Bentleys are providing a number of top quality villas including the Dalyan Jewel (left) for visiting teams and alicadoos at a cost of just £60 per person for up to seven days stay. (That's £60 for the full stay not per night!) We're expecting each team to organise their own flights to the new Dalaman airport which is less than half an hour away.
This can be done, of course, on the internet. We will pick you up from the airport and take you to your villa. Our expert Steve Smith is available to help.
You can decide which day to arrive and which one to leave (depending on your flights). The big day is Saturday June 9th when we take over the local football stadium to stage the very first SportNetwork Sevens - a full day of rugby followed by a barbecue. Once we know which teams are coming we'll organise the competition to make sure your team is matched against similar opponents. Teams and competition details will be posted on here.
Dalyan itself is a superb destination which is only just coming to the fore thanks to the new airport at nearby Dalaman. It is surrounded by mountains, enjoys a cooling breeze in summer, thanks to the river, and has tremendous wildlife in the delta made famous as the location for the filming of Humphrey Bogart's "African Queen."
As well as relaxing on the beach or beside the pool there are a host of activities which can be arranged for players and supporters including white water rafting, scuba diving or a 4x4 safari.
Charlie (left) and Colin Bentley are very well known in North of England Rugby circles. Retired headmaster Charlie played for Sunderland, West Hartlepool and Durham County while Colin became a respected fundraiser and administrator whose clubs include West Hartlepool and Orrell.
The brothers discovered the joys of Dalyan but instead of quietly retiring are now involved in developing superb villas through their company Oruc International. They still keep in touch with rugby through SportNetwork - hence their enthusiasm to launch the Dalyan SportNetwork Sevens with the offer of superb accommodation at a cost of just £60 per player/supporter!
