Following good wins against US Portsmouth and Winchester II, Saints went up the M3 to Farnborough looking to extend their unbeaten start to Hampshire One. However they were without a number of key players through injury, which even led captain Marcus to consider calling up Andy Farrell at one point.
Without a league win of their own so far this season, Farnborough were hoping to get off the mark against the makeshift Saints.
In keeping with the other big rugby game of the day, it was a tense affair and Saints finished the 80 minutes with only three points on the board, being ultimately beaten 5-3 by a single unconverted Farnborough try. Exciting stuff.
In other news, iconic utility back and journalist Dave Ward is still out with a broken collarbone following the US Portsmouth game- hence the sparcity of detail in the above match report. If anybody could let him know who scored and stuff, that'd be great.
Next game is away to Fordingbridge, who last week travelled to US Portsmouth and came away with a 10-21 victory.
