Playing
programme
We have 3 Senior Teams playing in the NYSD Premier
Cricket Leagues (Premier, Division 2 and Sunday League). League fixtures are played each weekend with 1st
and 2nds mainly Saturdays and 3rds Sunday.
The leagues operate on a system of promotion and relegation.
Matches are 50 overs per side, win, lose or draw with bonus
points for runs scored and wickets taken.
Matches usually start at 2.p.m (1.p.m.
from mid-August). Fixture books are available from the clubhouse.
In addition, a number of midweek Cup Competitions
are entered. These are
normally evening matches beginning at 6.p.m.
An internal Double Wicket Competition is held
annually (July) with the pairings decided by drawing names from a hat,
the eventual winners receiving the H.E. Bailey Salver.
Junior Cricket thrives at Hartlepool with teams at
Under-11, Under-13, under-15 and Under-17.
Each level has a competitive fixture list and the more promising
juniors are used to supplement senior teams.
There is an active coaching programme with experienced players
encouraged to undergo coaching qualifications.
Team
Selection
A selection committee meets each week (usually
Monday evenings – except Bank Holidays).
Captains, Vice-captains, Chairman, Secretary, Fixture Secretary
and Junior Representative all help select teams.
Team selections are posted on the clubhouse notice
board and appear in local press (Hartlepool Mail on Tuesday and Friday).
Unavailability for matches should be notified to the captain as
early as possible. Text
messages or voicemail messages notifying late withdrawal are considered
unacceptable, you must convey the message directly to ensure a
replacement is available for the match.
The
Selection Committee reserves the right to withhold selection for players
when subscriptions have not been paid.
Subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are due 31st
January each year and all players must pay before commencing play for
the season. Benefits of
playing membership include insurance cover for injuries that only apply
when subscription has been paid.

Cricket
Park Drive is an
excellent venue for playing or watching cricket.
The wicket is renowned for its quality and the outfield is
invariably fast, helping to produce high scores and entertainment for
spectators. Mobile covers
and sightscreens are available for use.
The pavilion has
recently had its changing facilities upgraded and Umpires rooms
available. The score box is electronically controlled.
Net practice is usually
on the outfield but a non-turf area is being developed adjacent to the
clubhouse to improve coaching provision.
Indoor nets are held
during the winter months, both junior coaching and senior
Park Drive regularly
features as a host club for County Squads, County Schools, Schools
Festivals and Local Authority Active Sports. HCC qualified coaches
are used by local schools to develop cricket locally.

It comprises two large

facilities for disabled have recently been upgraded. Kitchen facilities

and cost. A monthly meeting
of the General Committee looks after all aspects of the Club, both on
