Weekend Round-Up Darlington stay top after win, 40 point weekend takes 2nds into promotion places and 3rds win again

An excellent century from Ben Wickling was the main factor in league leaders Darlington coming away with a victory at Park drive.  Hartlepool posted 198 for 4 from 50 overs with half-centuries for both professionals (Jon Rickard and Marc Symington and 46 not out from Craig Symington.  Darlington started in positive style on a good wicket and scored freely throughout the innings as Hartlepool sought to stem the runs and get a vital breakthrough.  On another day some of the difficult catches may have stuck but 3 tough chances went to ground plus one simple chance.  It wasn't Hartlepool's day and Darlington extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division.  Hartlepool collected 5 points.

The 2nds had a double weekend away to Thornaby and away to Normanby Hall (played at Marske).  The win on Saturday was hard fought with Vish Chandresaker collecting 5 wickets with his leg spin.  Sunday was a much easier affair with Normanby tumbled out for 53 and Hartlepool passing the total without loss in a one sided match.  The 40 points took Hartlepool to 2nd in the table with leaders Norton  collecting only 6 points and Wolviston well beaten at Seaton Carew.  Barnard Castle got the better of Norton and this is one fixture Hartlepool will need to be at full strength if they are to avoid a similar slip up.

The 3rds continue to challenge the league leaders in Sunday Division 2 despite having to field weakened teams in recent weeks.  The win yesterday against Yarm keeps them in 4th spot in Sunday Division 2.  The bowlers did their job and shared the wickets to ensure a good 20 points at Park Drive.

This coming weekend the first travel to Thornaby

2nds are home to Sedgefield
