Rain affected draw does no favours to Hartlepool
By Freelancer - August 10 2008
As one of the few fixtures to survive the weather Hartlepool would have hoped for a better performance against Normanby Hall. It proved to be a disappointing day as Hartlepool could only collect 5 points in a drawn match. Botton club Redcar got 6 points from a washout at Darlington >

Thara Gunarathne collected 5 wickets for Hartlepool in a match restricted to 35 overs after a late start because of the heavy rain.  Normanby Hall began well but Hartlepool took 4 wickets in 5 deliveries to offer some hope.

Normanby Hall finished on 161 for 9 leaving Hartlepool a run chase.  It wasn't to be as the batting faltered with Martin and Robinson putting Normanby in control.

Hartlepool reached 101 for 8 but failed to get a share of the draw points.

Hartlepool lie second bottom in the table 20 points ahead of Redcar.
