Hetton Lyons of the Durham Senior League lost by 53 runs in the 20 over encounter at Park Drive.

Michael Gough and Paul Jackson starred with the bat.  A late surge from Jackson making use of the short boundary

gave Hartlepool a good total of 133 for 5

Hetton struggled from the word go and wickets fell regularly as good ground fielding and catching helped the bowlers.

Ian Palmer and Thara Gunarathne made regular inroads as the batting faltered.

In the league the return of Ian Jackson gave more bite to the bowling but the team is still battling to find its best form.

The drawn matches with Middlesbrough and Guisborough should help confidence to move forward and seek a second league win for the season.
