| Hartlepool came second best to Normanby Hall at Park Drive in the
Premier League yesterday. The home side never really recovered ffrom
being 10 for 3 as Chris Witherley removed Shurmer, Gough and Cannon with
the new ball.
Thara Gunarathne and Alan Tebbett then shared a stand of 78 with Thara
going for a patient 32. Alan Tebbett went on to record his best
score in the first team with 62 . Peter Rhoden then demonstrated
that he can make runs at this level with a very good 31 not out.
Although the score reached 167 for 8 after 50 overs it was it was a
moderate total in the condictions.
Ian Palmer made an early break when he had Blackett caught behind but
it was the only success until the latter overs. Dumida Pereda 90*
and Sykes 58 dominated the bowlers to see the visitors home by 8 wickets
with 6 overs remaining. Hartlepool collected 4 bonus points.

RA. Izran Hussain 5 for 38 and Shiraz Kasi 2 for 0 bowled our RA for
126. James Johnston then batted brilliantly to see Hartlepool home
with 69*
