However Blackhall bowlers also found wickets hard to come by as Mike Gough and Jack Wilkinson shared a large opening stand. Sadly the scoring was much too slow and only 7 boundaries were hit in the second innings as Hartlepool failed to reach even the 75% threshold to qualify for any draw points. They eventually finished on 160 for 3 and collected only 4 points to Blackhall's 14. The 2nd team were at home to Saltburn in the latest round-robin match of the Readman Cup. a second victory was gained as Saltburn failed to master the offspin of Shiraz Kasi and were dismissed for 120. Kasi finished with 6 for 38 from 15 overs. Early wickets fell in reply before Andy Barnard (50) and Shiraz Kasi 25 not out saw Hartlepool home. Victory in the final Group Match should ensure Hartlepool qualify for the knock-out stages.
