| After 30 overs of the match Hartlepool looked to be in sight of a very
comfortable victory with Redcar's innings in tatters. Ian Palmer and
Ian Jackson had destroyed the top order with 7 wickets between them.
Thara Gunarathne then chipped in with 2 wickets and Redcar stood at 57 for
9.
It was then that Mick McCabe (35) provided much needed support for J.
Davis 25not out. They almost doubled the total to 110 before Michael
Gough bowled McCabe.
Redcar then removed Hartlepool's top order in rapid style to leave them
teetering on 23 for 5. Jon Cannon and Chris Harrison steadied the
ship with a stand of 42 before Cannon departed. Richard Lloyd (14)
on debut then helped Harrison in a stand of 29 before Lloyd was
unluckily bowled off his pads.
Chris Harrison stood firm and took Hartlepool to victory with 14 runs
in the last over including 2 sixes. Chris scored 57 not out from
only 51 balls with four 4s and three 6s. Hartlepool 20 points Redcar
