Senior Presentation Evening 2011 - Winners
Dave White
David White was the big winner of the night at the Hartlepool RFC annual presentation evening, after his peers voted him the First XV Players’ Player of the Season for 2010/11. Whitey, or Davey Horden as he’s known throughout the club, has impressed everybody with the work rate and commitment he has shown since making the move from Welfare Park in the summer of 2010. Davey has made a big impact both on & off the field since his arrival and as this award shows his performances have not gone un-noticed by his team mates. Other big winners on the night included Colts Neil Stead and Matthew Sprintall who picked up 2 and 3 awards respectively. Neil and Matthew have both made huge impacts in both the U18 and senior game this season. In recognition of this Neil picked up the Colts and Second XV Coaches Player of the Season awards, while Matthew was handed the Players’ Player of the Season awards for both the Colts and Second XV. Sprintall also picked up the Second XV top try scorer gong. In other awards Scott Hind picked up the Second XV Man of Steel award while Colt Jon Carney was voted First XV Most Improved Player. Tom Johnson came out on top in the try scoring stakes touching down 7 times for the First XV in 2010/11. Supporters group, the Ring & Riders, presented club stalwart Stewart Hind with an award for Most Consistent Player and Johnson with their annual Most Improved Player award. Elsewhere, club President Dave Jones presented both Mick Parker and Keith Dobson with an honorary life membership for services to the Club. Credit again must go to Davey White for receiving the prestigious Players’ Player of the Season award. The strength of our junior section was in evidence once again as Colts Neil Stead, Matthew Sprintall and Jon Carney all picked up awards for their performances in senior rugby this season. Well done to all of the lads who won awards on the night and to the effort shown by everybody throughout the season.
