Changes at Nomads as Chairman and Secretary resign
At gap Connah's quay Nomads AGM (Tue 14 June 2011) both Chairman John Gray and Secretary Ally Bennett resigned. This follows hard on the heels of news reported several weeks ago that Assistant Manager Ken Price had been replaced by Academy Director Jay Catton who will combine both roles at the club.

John Gray last stepped down as Nomads' chairman in January 2007. At that time through sponsorship by his company DACS and from his significant personal financial contributions, John was undoubtedly the main financial force behind Nomads over a number of previous seasons and some estimates put the contribution value as high as £200,000. Following a period of considerable turmoil which left the Nomads club facing financial meltdown, John was instrumental in enabling GAP Personnel to take over as owners of the club which was confirmed in a press release on 21 June 2008. GAP Personnel ran the club for a season but John returned as Chairman in May 2009 to set up a committee to run the club on Gap's behalf and he has remained as Chairman since then.

Ally Bennett became Nomads Secretary in May 2009 when the new Committee was being set up. Ally brought with him a lengthy period of refereeing followed by administrative experience, more recently as club Secretary of Denbigh Town FC. He has proved to be a hard working and enthusiastic Secretary particularly on match days and he has also been administering the Nomads Natter message board. Ally has become popular among younger Nomads supporters with his encouragement to them to attend matches and by regularly organising transport for them to attend away games.

At the end of the 2009/10 season, Nomads were relegated from the Welsh Premier League on goal difference, but last season Player Manger Mark McGregor led the Team to a Welsh Cup semi-final and to the Huws Gray Alliance League Championship by 9 clear points. It was a major shock when the WPL failed to grant Nomads a Domestic License and though the club sought advice from specialist football lawyers to consider making an appeal, no appeal has materialised. Announcements delays over the Licensing appeal outcome and all other changes in Club personnel have been a major source of frustration and anger for Nomads supporters who are hearing about these changes via rumour and leaks from the club. The club has still not released any details about the Chairman and Secretary's resignation or the decision not to persue a licensing appeal.

Nomads Natter message board advised Supporters that Manager Mark McGregor was holding a meeting at 1pm today and that all supporters questions with regard to Nomads first team for the coming season would be answered. News from that meeting is still not available at the time of writing.

Ive just seen this and i have to say whoever stated that John and myself resigned have got this wrong. For the record John Gray and Ally Bennett decided we would both not stand for Re election. Can you please state this on this site as it is very misleading dont you think. You never had a statement from the club about resignations as it never happened. May i also point out that the Match day commentry was done by Nathan and myself and you were right we were contacted by quite a few clubs very interested in how we did what we did

Many Thanks

Ally Bennett
