Durham/ Northumberland Division 2 Play Off Game.
Barnard Castle v Novocastrians.
Saturday 29 August 2009. Kick Off: 3.00 pm. @ Grayfields

Local rugby fans pining for the start of league rugby have the chance to see a highly competitive game at Grayfields tomorrow as Barnard Castle & Novocastrians face one another in a play off for the right to play in Division 1 this season. After they both finished level it was unclear who was to be promoted alongside Hartlepool. The confusion arose due to the fact that whereas Castle faced Team Northumbria, Novos were given the 2 league points thanks to a walkover when the University side could not raise a full team. After a hearing it was decided by an RFU Panel that a play off game between tomorrow’s teams would take place.

The officials for the game are all drawn from Cumbria Referees Society.

Referee: Dean Lythgoe (Cumbria).
TJ1: Paul Sharman (Cumbria).
TJ2: John Rogers (Cumbria).
