Australian Rules Football

Hartlepool has an Australian Rules Football team called "The Dockers"

We have been in existence since 2006
and currently train and play out of West Hartlepool RFC and soon also BBOB in the headlands.
Aussie rules is played from May till the 1st of August, During the off season of Rugby Union.

Some of the great Rugby League & Rugby Union stars of Australia and abroad who all contribute their skills to Aussie rules football:

Herbert ‘Dally' Messenger (Born In Sydney 1883) Rugby League & Union.
Darren Lockyer (Born In Brisbane 1977) Rugby League.
Peter "Sterlo" Sterling (Born In Queensland 1960) Rugby League.
Marcus Bai (Born Papua New Guinean 1972) Rugby League.
Nicholas John "Nick" Evans (Born in Auckland, New Zealand 1980) Rugby Union.

Primarily a kicking and catching game there are a lot of other skills that can ultimately help you with your Rugby Union, Plus you get to play for Hartlepool.

We play in the North East Division:

Middlesbrough Hawks
Durham Saints
Newcastle ARFC
Gateshead Miners
