The Newcastle 7s sponsored by Eden Park clothing will take place at Novocastrians rugby ground, in Benton, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, on Sunday 3rd May 2009 (bank holiday weekend).

The perfect end of season bash for all to attend. It promises to be an awesome day out with outdoor bars, Beer and Pimms tents, Eden Park merchandise stalls, BBQ's, Red Bull zones, amusements, social events, music and not to forget rugby! There will be a women’s and men’s tournament.

The event is supported by the RFU and Northumberland County and is being run in support of the charity, “Future Hope”. The charity is based in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), India and was started roughly 20 years ago by a man called Tim Grandage. It's basic objective is to get kids off the streets and out of the railway stations in Kolkata and raise and educate them throughout their lives. With Tim having gone to Rugby school when he was younger, rugby has been an integral part of the charity ever since it was founded. Please see www.futurehope.net to find out more.

For women’s and men’s teams entering it will be £100 for 10 players or £150 for a squad of up to 20! Team entry numbers are limited, so teams can enter by e-mailing Tom Beattie at tom.beattie@united-events.co.uk or by calling 07881552510
